Let me install this unreviewed Jetpack.
Jetstatus is a Twitter client for Jetpack. It polls the service for new updates and displays popup notifications for every entry in the friends timeline. It also adds a slidebar entry that displays the history of received tweets since the jetpack was launched.
This way a twitter user can have faster access to his tweet stream from the cached view in the slidebar, compared to visiting the Twitter web site, while also receiving near real-time popup notifications.
MIT
Simple and direct to the point - it's pretty effective as a Twitter notification alert agent.
A way to reply to tweets and not just view them would be perfect.
After being logged in for a while, it reached a point when it no longer retrieved new tweets for some reason.
Like the sidebar feature and directly seeing the tweets
Expand to other services specifically Status.net sites that use OpenMicroBlogging standards
it really helps to stay connected with twitter
it does not work with some themes that put the tabbar above the awesomebar like FX4 :(
Would be cool to set the position of the arrow manually
